Rev. Nathan Sautter, Pastor

A native of Nebraska, Nathan grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, where some of his family still reside.

He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University (California), where he received a B.A. in Practical Theology with an emphasis in youth ministry, and Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned his M.Div. in 2014. He spent four years in youth ministry in Lebanon, Ohio, serving Lebanon Presbyterian Church as their Director of Student Ministries.

After seminary, Nathan served as the Pastor for Family Discipleship at First Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Georgia, and then as the Associate Pastor for Community Life at Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville, KY, for six years.

Nathan has served as Pastor at Cottonwood Presbyterian Church since 2021. He loves the diversity, compassion, and warmth of the congregation and is thankful to be a small part of what God’s Spirit is doing as we seek to be “In Christ, together, for the world.”

When Nathan is not in the office, making pastoral visits, preparing his sermon, or attending committee meetings, you’ll find him at home cooking vegetables he grew in the SOUL Garden, at an RSL match, or enjoying a coffee or beer at one of the valley’s great spots. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Joy (a Colorado native), their two young children, Aaron (3) and Oakley (5), and their dog Auggie. As a family, they love hiking, biking, reading, movies, swimming and travelling.
