9:30 A.M. Sunday

The great ends of the church are:

  • The proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
  • The shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
  • The maintenance of divine worship;
  • The preservation of the truth;
  • The promotion of social righteousness;
  • The exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

This statement is from chapter 1 (section G-1.0200) of the Form of Government in The Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A).

Dead Sea Scrolls—You no doubt have seen or heard advertising for the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Leonardo Museum.  Pastor Tom though it would be fun to take in the exhibit together.  Toward that end, he will be leading a three session class on the Dead Sea Scrolls in March as we begin the season of Lent, then we will attend the exhibit together with a time for group reflection following.  The classes will be on a Monday night March 10, 17, and 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Then we will have lunch together after church on Sunday, March 30, before heading to the museum to take in the exhibit.  There will be sign-ups for lunch and the museum.  Please participate in as much of this opportunity as fits into your life.  Pastor Tom is looking forward to learning together.
