At Cottonwood we love kids. We desire to nurture faith from the nursery throughout life. We look forward to sharing our love of God with your kids. We hope kids join us in worship, but there is child-care available. We have a Sunday School program that includes a children’s choir as well as educational opportunities. We also have a Church School program that takes place during the 11:00 a.m. worship service immediately following the Children’s Sermon. In the summer we have a Vacation Bible School and through the year we have service and fellowship opportunities for kids and their families. We invite you to check out our ministry to kids.
COTTONWOOD PRESBYTERIAN … A PLACE FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN
WELCOMING CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
“Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” Mark 9:37
We believe at Cottonwood that worship is an essential way we learn what it means to be Christian. By enabling children to worship with their families, and the larger church family, every Sunday, they learn that they belong to Christ and are welcome in his church. They learn the Lord’s Prayer, participate in communion, witness baptism, and other parts of the liturgy.
In addition to the enrichment they receive in worship, Children’s Church School reinforces church worship and follows the Liturgical calendar. They hear stories from the Bible read and interpreted. They are enriched by the beauty of music and art as expressions of praise and as their responses to God. They build a store of the accumulated shared experiences of Christian community from which they may draw when they are older. They discover that they are valued as persons by God and by the people of God.
The Cottonwood Children and Youth Thanksgiving Mission Project will be
supporting the Family Promise Center
for homeless families.
When families graduate from the center and move into their own home, Family Promise
sends families off with a Welcome Home Kit which includes a laundry basket filled with
household items. Suggested items; towels, shower curtain, cleaning supplies, broom,
soaps, etc. Also a Family Kit that includes items that might encourage families to do
things together. Suggested items are popcorn, bowl, movies, board games, snugly
blankets, movie tickets, etc.
The children and youth are asking for your help to fill this need. We ask that your
item be brought to church no later than November 15th. The kids will fill the baskets and
deliver them to Family Promise for the families in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Won't you be a part of helping homeless families achieve self-sufficiency? "Let no
one feel alone in this world." Children & Youth Christian Education

Christmas Program 2014
Children in Mission - “Faith without works is dead”The children at Cottonwood are learning through their mission work at the church and in the community to put service above self. Their summer mission project will be to support Family Promise as they did two years ago.
Children's Christmas Program
Summer for the children at Cottonwood was busy with fellowship activities, Vacation Bible School, and mission projects. The congregation enjoyed several choral programs during services and the birthday of the Church. Now Fall is in the air. Just as the leaves begin to change colors, there is also change for the children at Cottonwood. Pastor Tom blessed the children’s back packs and prayed that each would have an exciting, productive, and fun school year. The children made a Harvest Cross with the bounties from the soul garden. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven”. We can enjoy and thank God for so much this time of year. The school program begins on September 15th for all ages.
Please join us.
